Owner's Quarters
The owners’ apartment at West Hill House B&B is a spacious and well-designed ground-floor residence with its own private entrance. The bedroom, featuring a gas fireplace and TV, includes two wall closets and a walk-in closet. Two full bathrooms provide convenience, one with a tub/shower combination and the other with a shower, both offering vanities and storage.
The kitchen is compact yet functional, equipped with a gas stove, sink, and under-counter refrigerator, with space for a dishwasher if desired. The sitting room, warmed by a gas fireplace, offers built-in storage, a TV, and direct outdoor access. Adjacent is The Cave, a multi-purpose space used for wine storage, exercise, and entertainment, naturally kept at 60°F by the nearby 5,000-gallon water cistern.
A separate office provides workspace with built-in shelving and a walk-in closet.
The housekeeping area includes linen storage, washer and dryer space, and an ironing station with its own heater and TV. Nearby, separate rooms house the boiler and water systems.
At the end of the corridor, the Garden Room, a guestroom with an ensuite bath and private entrance, could be incorporated into the apartment. Offering comfort, privacy, and efficiency, this residence is both functional and inviting.
Why Current Owners Love Living in the Area
We love living in Warren, Vermont—a cozy village tucked away in Vermont’s beautiful Mad River Valley. It’s a place that perfectly blends natural beauty, a strong sense of community, and endless opportunities for outdoor fun. It combines the best of a small village center with beautiful and peaceful rural surroundings. If you’re looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation, you’ll feel right at home here.
Year-round, there’s always something to do outside. In the winter, you can enjoy skiing at nearby Sugarbush Resort. When the snow melts, the trails open up for hiking and biking, and the Mad River is perfect for kayaking and swimming. Fall is absolutely breathtaking, with the hills turning vibrant shades of red and gold—every season has its own magic.
One of the things we appreciate most about living here is the welcoming atmosphere. Neighbors quickly become friends, and community events like the quirky Fourth of July Parade and local events bring us all together. There’s a real sense of belonging that makes Warren feel like home.
Even with its laid-back vibe, Warren offers modern conveniences that make life easy. We’ve got reliable internet and co-working spaces, so it’s a great spot for remote work. And when it’s time to eat, there’s no shortage of options—from casual farm-to-table meals to fine dining at places like Chez Henri and The Pitcher Inn. Foodies will definitely be happy here.
Warren really appeals to all kinds of people. Empty-nesters and retirees love the peaceful yet active lifestyle, while professionals appreciate being close to Montpelier and Burlington for work when needed, without giving up the tranquility of small-town life.
What we love most is the healthy, balanced lifestyle Warren offers. There’s always a way to stay active, access to quality healthcare, and a focus on sustainability that aligns with our values. If you’re looking for a beautiful, welcoming place to live, Warren just might be the perfect fit for you too.

Region:
New England
Address: 1496 West Hill Road, Warren, VT 05674
Vermont’s Mad River Valley is a very special community in the center of the state. It encompasses the towns of Warren, Waitsfield, and Fayston as well as the Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski areas.
Virtually all the businesses and restaurants are locally owned and operated and locals are very proud that they have no traffic lights at all in the whole valley – they are simply not needed. Vermont’s Long Trail runs along the Green Mountain ridge above the valley, and there are extensive hiking and mountain biking trails to enjoy.
The Inn’s quiet location on a country backroad amidst Vermont’s Green Mountains, is also close to many excellent restaurants and other attractions. In addition, it is next to one of New England’s best ski areas, as well as cross country and backcountry ski trails which makes it ideal for ski vacations. Annual events include the Mad Marathon in July and the Green Mountain Stage race on Labor Day weekend – and of course the glorious leaf display every fall. Truly a year-round destination!
