Property Details

This fully restored historic Bed and Breakfast is the ultimate place to experience the serenity of the Vermont countryside in Warren, VT. Located in the Green Mountains of Central Vermont, this 100% solar-powered B&B is beside Sugarbush Golf & Skiing and close to Mad River Glen. Set on a lightly traveled country road surrounded by gardens and ponds, the inn offers the quintessential New England experience.

The Inn has 9 unique guest rooms, all with private baths which offer comfort, tranquility, and hi-tech amenities like fiber-connected WiFi and 5 EV charging stations. Guests can also relax in the various common rooms, or take in the vistas from the grounds, as well as enjoy Vermont beers, international wines, champagne, and a taste of Scotland at the unique Quaich Single Malt Scotch bar.

There are also several event venues on the property.  The largest is 900 sq ft of year-round meeting space that is fully insulated, heated, and cooled. It has an adjacent  kitchen with all the facilities for a caterer to serve food when appropriate, and a separate bathroom.  The facility is equipped with everything needed for events up to 50 people – tables, chairs, table settings, coffee makers, computer projection, sound system, etc. Additional spaces for smaller meetings & events are also available in the main building and (weather permitting) on the grounds.

Another unique feature of this property is 28% ownership interest in a large offsite solar array, which transfers with the Inn.  This together with a tracking solar array on the property provide a total of about 52.5MWh per year – largely zeroing out the electricity cost for the business.

While Fall and Winter are the prime seasons, the Mad River Valley is truly a year-round destination with plenty of potential for additional growth.

Location Details

Region: New England

Address: 1496 West Hill Road, Warren, VT  05674

Vermont’s Mad River Valley is a very special community in the center of the state. It encompasses the towns of Warren, Waitsfield, and Fayston as well as the Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski areas.

Virtually all the businesses and restaurants are locally owned and operated and locals are very proud that they have no traffic lights at all in the whole valley – they are simply not needed. Vermont’s Long Trail runs along the Green Mountain ridge above the valley, and there are extensive hiking and mountain biking trails to enjoy.

The Inn’s quiet location on a country backroad amidst Vermont’s Green Mountains, is also close to many excellent restaurants and other attractions.  In addition, it is next to one of New England’s best ski areas, as well as cross country and backcountry ski trails which makes it ideal for ski vacations.  Annual events include the Mad Marathon in July and the Green Mountain Stage race on Labor Day weekend – and of course the glorious leaf display every fall.  Truly a year-round destination!
